The Joint Taskforce (JTF), 2 Brigade, Port Harcourt, has vowed to bring to book, perpetrators of the alleged shooting of a commercial bus at the Agip Roundabout in Port Harcourt which has left one of two affected victims battling for her life with a bullet in the head.
Witnesses account had, over the Wednesday incident, fingered soldiers for the alleged shooting following a reported scuffle with a commercial bus driver at the busy Mile 4 neighbourhood in the Rivers capital city.
In a statement, Major Michael Etete, Spokesperson for the 2 Brigade said, “The Brigade sympathises with those injured during the incident and investigation to unravel the surrounding circumstances has commenced.
The JTF which expressed sympathy for the injured victims, however stated that it was hasty to hold the army responsible based on a reported preliminary police report indicating that the “soldiers at the location did not fire their rifles as their ammunitions were complete.”
Major Etete declared that the Brigade would leave no stone unturned to uncover the truth and bring the perpetrators to book.
