The Forum for Justice and Human Rights Defence on Monday insisted that the move by the Federal Government to negotiate with Boko Haram would not end unrest in the country.
The group’s National Coordinator, Mr. Oghenejabor Ikimi, told our correspondent in Yenagoa that the government might end up negotiating with the wrong group.
Besides, Ikimi maintained that negotiation as the only means of disarming members of the sect was not an antidote to the Boko Haram insurgence.
He noted that the permanent solution to sectarian violence depended on good governance.
He regretted that the country had been a victim of misrule since independence “owing to a mediocre and unpatriotic leadership that has pervaded the polity.”
