The
House of Representatives is to resume plenary on Tuesday, the Vice
Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Victor Ogene has
said.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the House went on annual recess on July 19.
Ogene
said in a statement on Thursday that the disclosure became necessary to
clarify speculations that the resumption date was shifted.
He
said Speaker Aminu Tambuwal had instructed all standing committees of
the House to undertake a thorough appraisal of the status of the
implementation of the 2012 Appropriation Act.
Ogene
added that while on recess, members had interface with their
constituents on the proposed constitution review process and the
Petroleum Industry Bill as well as conducted oversight functions on the
2012 budget.
He
explained that the development was in tandem with the unyielding desire
of the seventh House of Representatives to ensure appropriate and
timely implementation of the national budget.
