Thu, 07/19/2012 Olusola, who was also an Ambassador of peace, would be interred with his horsetail, a cultural symbol that he had been known with for years at his residence, Television House, Iperu-Remo in Ikenne Local Government Area.
Preparations for the funeral rites were in top gear with his “ TV House” residence wearing a new look amid encomiums on the late television producer, programme creator and veteran broadcaster. Relations of the late lover of tradition and culture have started arriving in the town with many wearing various “aso ebi” .
The burial will be preceded by a special farewell in his honour by members of the Akesan (Iperu) Club 1954 as well as a church service at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral.
Reverend Samuel Folorunsho Odumade and The Reverend Mayowa Ogunlade, who led others from the Wesley Methodist Cathederal, Iperu, during yesterday’s Wake-keep ceremony described the late Septuagenarian as an easy-going church-class leader, who would be greatly missed by all and sundry. In his sermon, Odumade, who said death was inevitable for all mortals, also urged those in position of authority to always remember death.
The Chairman of DAAR Communications Plc., Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, who was among dignitaries that attended the ceremony, described Olusola’s death as a rude shock.
