Kidnapping: Okorocha engages US security outfit

To stamp out the increasing, wave of violent crimes in Imo State, Governor Rochas Okorocha has engaged the services of United States of America security experts to provide security training to members of the state security network on dog handling and to establish the best security outfit in the state.

The US security outfit, the AK. 9 team specialized in the use of security dogs and also versed in intelligent security operations, Okorocha said would train the state security network previously known as “Imo State valiance group” particularly on anti -kidnapping.

The governor, who disclosed this during a security briefing at the Imo College of Advanced Professional Studies (ICAPS), assured that his plans for massive industrialization of the state would positively create employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the state. He announced the introduction of the use of motor bikes and dispatch riders to combat crime in the state and equally ordered all KEKE NAPEP operators to obtain special identification numbers. Also speaking, the President of Acid Homeland Security, Mr. Victor Anderson stated that the world-class security experts were in the state to establish one of the best security outfits in the country, assuring that the team would stop at nothing to ensure the state was crime free.

While urging the students to always take their studies seriously, Anderson hinted that they would be properly trained on the area of intelligence gathering, surveillance and on how to detect kidnappers. Meanwhile, Okorocha had disclosed that 11 members of the state security network (vigilance) from each of the 27 local government areas in the state would undertake the security training courses after which they would train others on how to use attack dogs, tracking dogs, surveillance dose protection and anti-kidnapping measures.

He also announced the release of Hilux pick up vans, three for Owerri zone, two for Orlu and one for Okigwe zone in addition to 10 motor cycles for each of the local government areas in the state to assist them to combat crime.
