Expose Boko Haram in govt or…, ACF tells Jonathan

From NOAH EBIJE, Kaduna

Relying on the statement made recently by President Goodluck Jonathan that members of the sect, Boko Haram have infiltrated his administration, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) yesterday charged the President to expose such members in his government to avoid risking himself.

Addressing a press conference on the state of the nation, the ACF National Executive Council Chairman, Aliko M. Mohammed said the forum was ready to assist the president to dialogue with the Boko Haram, if he could fish them out since he had admitted that they dine and wine with him in his cabinet and other arms of the government.

Mohammed added that the Federal Government must guarantee the security and maximum protection of the leaders of the Boko Haram as a precondition for them to come out for dialogue. The ACF Boss who jointly addressed the press in company of the National Vice President of the forum, Senator Joseph Waku, among other prominent members of the NEC also appealed to the public to volunteer information that could lead to the whereabouts and arrest of the sects, other than those the president said have penetrated his government.

“If you remember, the President and the Commander-in-Chief of our federation made a pronouncement in public that he knows those who are Boko Haram, they are in the government with him, they are in the military, in his executive council, in the police, even in the judiciary, that makes things easier for Mr. president to help the North and ACF to fish out the Boko Haram.

“We can only broker peace, we have not gotten any instrumentality of authority to investigate and find, but if the government has spoken publicly that this is his views, we are ready to bring this people out so that we can now assist the government, advice the government, what mechanism of punishment because the rule are there and the law that such an offence can be dealt with.“If anybody get any information about Boko Haram and you are afraid to get in touch with them, you are free to get in touch with us.
